Summer & Fall 2016: Content Marketing Conferences To Attend

Our list of the 10 top content marketing events scheduled for autumn 2016, including Content Jam in August (Chicago), the mega Content Marketing World in September (Cleveland) and Hubspot’s Inbound conference in November (Boston).

August

Content Jam (August 3-4, Chicago, IL) – Expected to draw 300-350 attendees, Content Jam is being billed as ‘Chicago’s largest content marketing conference’, aimed at people who create or curate content for the web. The program offers a full day of four tracks (Strategy, Creation, Promotion and Measurement) for content marketers, brand warriors and senior-level directors and executives to gain better content marketing insights and results.
Social Fresh 2016 (August 18-21, Orlando, FL) – This 4-day conference is jam-packed with all types of inspirations for social marketers. Social media leaders from Spotify and The Economist highlight the speaker list. The agenda brings excellent networking opportunities with dynamic session topics for brands, agencies and social companies.

Content Marketing World (September 6-9, Cleveland, OH) – This may be the largest content marketing event in the United States, with top brands and 4,000 attendees expected. It’s the flagship event of Content Marketing Institute, and it will be the first under the new arm of UBM, which purchased CMI earlier this year.
MozCon (September 12-14, Seattle) – MozCon is the event of the year for all fans, friends and followers of the mighty Moz.com. Its key focus is to share success stories and relevant insights in content marketing, brand development, mobile opportunities, SEO, analytics and measurement, social media trends, community building and much more.
Content & Commerce Summit (Sept 15-17, Orlando, FL) – This 3-day event brings together media companies (news sites, content marketers, bloggers/podcasters and others) that win at aggregating attention with commerce companies (Amazon sellers, eCommerce content stores, etc.) that excel at monetization. Both sides will learn and benefit about what’s mutually beneficial in eCommerce and digital media.

PubCon (October 10-13, Las Vegas) – Pubcon promises a week-long look at the future of technology, with some of the top search and social marketers. Panel events and conference studies will come from the industry’s leading exhibitors, speakers, and startups working on the cutting edge of online advertising, brand developments, social media marketing, SEO and more.
DMA & Then (October 16-18, Los Angeles, CA) – The Direct Marketing Association’s marquee event of the year positions itself as the event for integration via content, social marketing and customer engagement. Sessions will include useful info to engage customers through marketing tactics in creative, search, social, mobile and app technologies. AND recently retired NBA legend Kobe Bryant will be among the featured speakers!
B2B Marketing Forum (October 18-21, Boston, MA) – This is the premier event for B2B professionals in companies, agencies and consultancies working in content marketing, brand marketing, social media, SEO and more. Hosted by MarketingProfs, this forum offers workshops in content strategy, brand enrichment, marketing copywriting and more.
LavaCon (October 25-28, Las Vegas, NV) – This 3-day show is one of several global shows held in the area of more technical content development across all sides. The topics on the program schedule will hold the attention of content strategists and content engineers, documentation managers, and other content professionals.

November

Inbound (November 8-11) – This is Hubspot’s big event of the year for remarkable content marketing, education and networking opportunities. Top-shelf speakers like Gary Vaynerchuk, and Alec Baldwin highlight the early lineup. And there will be plenty of education for attendees in areas like inbound content creation and promotion; sales and marketing tactics for leaders; and inbound methodology.

Looking Ahead

IZEA Fest (February 10-11, 2017) – This event includes a lineup of speakers that range from celebrities and bloggers to YouTube stars and journalists. For content marketing professionals and social media influencers alike, the conference will also feature a technology zone stocked with drones, virtual reality equipment, and other emerging technologies. After hours, there are planned nightly parties, including an evening with exclusive theme park access. The event is to be held at Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
